Update on Operation Millie's Puppies....
We still only have four puppies and the other two have gone onto private property. We have been trying to draw them out with Vienna sausages.
We took one puppy to her foster and stopped for some naked strips from Canes to see if the puppies will come out for them.
Our volunteers are now having a picnic with Millie and were even able to pet her.
This girl is very sweet, just unsure.
Please, if you can foster Millie, email us at capture@duckteam6.org

UPDATE: 9:30 PM: We gave Millie and the puppies a break earlier today and went back out, however were unsuccessful in capturing the last two puppies. We will come up with a plan and attempt again when we have availability. 4 out of 6 puppies are safe.
Roaster chicken. I guarantee you'll get the puppies of the property.
Raising Cane's your chicken is loved by street dogs! It helps us capture these elusive babies! Could you please help us make a foster plea for Millie?
Operation Millie's Puppies is underway!
We've got four already and just need the last two.
With them running in the middle of the street, we decided it was best to go ahead and capture them as they all have fosters lined up. We did not want to risk them getting hit by a car.
MILLIE STILL NEEDS A FOSTER AND WE NEED YOUR HELP. PLEASE SHARE HER SO WE CAN GET HER OFF OF THE STREET.

🚨 MAJOR STILL NEEDS A FOSTER & 501(c)(3) RESCUE
While Buck and Ranger are safe, their friend Major is still out there waiting for his chance. 💔
Major has been surviving on the streets for months and continues to show up alone in the same Dallas area. Since Buck and Ranger were caught, he has been seen more consistently at night, making it clear he is now on his own.
This handsome German Shepherd once wore a collar, but it has long since disappeared. We may not know his full story, but we know he was friendly with Buck and Ranger and chose to stay close to them. That tells us a lot about the kind of dog he is.
Now Major needs someone to step up for him the way others stepped up for his friends.
He deserves safety. He deserves a soft place to rest. He deserves the chance to decompress, heal, and learn that people can still be kind.
As always, we will make a monetary donation of $450 to the rescue able to take him in.
Please email: capture@duckteam6.org if you can foster, rescue, or want more information.
Let’s not let Major be the one left behind.

🚨 URGENT: FOSTER STILL NEEDED FOR MILLIE 🚨
All of her puppies now have fosters lined up… but not a single email or inquiry for Momma Millie.
We cannot safely move forward with capturing the puppies unless Millie has an approved foster waiting. We will not leave her behind, and we are deeply concerned that if the puppies are taken without her, she may flee the area entirely.
That said, the situation is becoming critical. The puppies have been seen crossing and even laying in an incredibly busy street, and their safety is at immediate risk. We may be forced to act quickly to get them out of harm’s way, but our goal is to bring Millie to safety with her babies.
Millie is not aggressive toward people or other dogs...she is simply scared and trying to survive.
Please, if you can open your home to Millie and give her the chance she deserves, email us at capture@duckteam6.org.
If you can not foster, please share so we can find her foster family.
We are so close to getting this family to safety. We just need one person to step up for her.

❗️MILLIE UPDATE — FOSTERS STILL NEEDED❗️
Our volunteers went out to set up a trap for conditioning Millie, and unfortunately, she is still very thin. She’s doing everything she can to survive out there, but it’s clear she needs help.
We’ve made incredible progress — we now have fosters lined up for all but 1–2 of her puppies (depending on whether there is a seventh), but no one has stepped up for Millie herself.
We are so close to getting this entire family off the streets and out of harm’s way, but we still desperately need 2–3 committed, long-term fosters to make that happen.
Fostering means providing a safe, patient, and compassionate environment where these dogs can decompress, learn to trust, and adjust to life inside a home. They will remain in foster care until they are adopted and that time makes all the difference in their future.
Millie has done her job protecting her babies. Now she needs someone to step up for her.
If you can open your home and heart to help, please email us at capture@duckteam6.org

LOOK WHO GOT CAUGHT 🐾
It’s Scout!
This sweet girl has been roaming the busy streets of Grand Prairie since December. Once her Good Samaritan—now foster—noticed her, she immediately stepped up and began feeding her.
Scout had been living in a creek bed near a busy intersection, crossing four lanes of traffic just to make her way to the Marco’s Pizza parking lot. Thanks to her foster and the employees there, she never missed a meal.
When we were contacted for help, we quickly realized this wouldn’t be a typical capture. Scout was terrified of the trap and refused to go near it, no matter how hungry she was. But one thing was clear: she craved attention, even if she was too scared to get close.
She loves to play. After spending hours sitting with her one evening, she stole a volunteer’s hat and ran off to play with it in a nearby field. Before leaving, we gave her a toy and she immediately lit up.
Last night, our volunteers returned with a new plan: toys, patience, and time. They tied a rope to a toy and played tug-of-war from a distance, slowly building trust. After hours of sitting, playing, and gently coaxing her, Scout finally walked up to her foster for pets. In that moment, one of our volunteers was able to get close enough to pet her and quickly slip lead her.
Scout is SAFE. ❤️
She is now decompressing in her foster home, and we have no doubt she’s going to make an incredible companion. Who could resist a playful pup with those ears?!
Scout is being fostered through Ruff Road Revival and will be available for adoption once she is spayed, vaccinated, and fully adjusted to home life.
Thank you to her foster for never giving up, to the Marco’s Pizza employees for helping keep her fed, and to Ruff Road Revival for welcoming her in. She will be reported as found to Grand Prairie Animal Shelter in case someone is searching for her.
Happy Tails, Scout!

🚨 FOSTER AND 501 (c) 3 RESCUE NEEDED 🚨
Major has been quietly surviving on the streets, and now it’s his turn for a chance at safety. This handsome German Shepherd was inconsistently seen alongside Buck and Ranger, but since they’ve been safely caught, Major has started showing up consistently and all alone. 💔
We don’t know much about him yet, but we do know he chose good company. He got along well with both Buck and Ranger, which tells us a lot about his heart. He’s been spotted in the same area since the fall, and while he once had a collar, it’s since been lost… a sign he may have belonged to someone once.
Now he’s out there on his own, and we don’t want his story to end on the streets.
Major deserves the same chance his friends got... a safe place to land, decompress, and be shown love again. That starts with a foster.
🐾 Can you open your home to Major?
🐾 Can you help us bring Buck and Ranger’s friend to safety?
Please email: capture@duckteam6.org if you can foster or want to learn more.
Let’s not leave Major behind.

UPDATE: RESCUE FOUND
🚨501C3 RESCUE NEEDED!🚨
We received a capture request for this adorable bully girl out in Grand Prairie.
She is not showing any signs of aggression and is slowly starting to trust her Good Samaritan, who would like to foster her. She has named this sweet girl Scout.
With a foster lined up, all we need is a registered 501C3 partner rescue willing to take her in before we capture her.
We will make a donation of $450 to the rescue willing to take her in to help offset their costs.
Please email capture@duckteam6.org if your rescue can take her in.

🚨 Millie and her puppies STILL need help. 🚨
We are seeing so many comments from people asking who to contact or saying they can take a puppy or two, but unfortunately, we are not receiving the emails needed to move this case forward.
The good news: We already have a rescue committed.
What we urgently need now: FOSTERS.
✅ Yes, you must be approved to foster.
❌ No, we will not hand these puppies or Millie over to just anyone.
❌ No, we will not trap them and take them to a shelter.
Every rescue case we take on follows a strict protocol to keep dogs safe. Before we can capture them, we must have approved foster homes AND a backing rescue lined up.
This situation is incredibly urgent. Millie and her puppies were recently seen lying in the middle of the street, putting their lives at immediate risk.
The puppies are old enough to be separated into different foster homes. They do NOT have to stay together or go with Millie. Even fostering one puppy makes a life-saving difference.
Please help us help them:
- Comment to boost visibility
- Tag anyone who may be able to foster
If you can foster, email us at: capture@duckteam6.org

Today as I was going to the doctor's office I found that some.... Person.... Apparently dropped and left a very large clear bag full of empty bags which used to be full of raw meat in the middle of the street and it had come open and they were blowing everywhere. She was in the middle of the street licking up the liquid contents, no doubt laden with bacteria. Not a good scene at all. Probably smelly. Traffic is not fast, but some were swerving around her, and I pulled over. I dragged the primary bag out of the street. A good neighbor also stopped behind me. I tried putting a small amount of pet food on the sidewalk hoping it would distract her from what could not be good because I didn't want her to ingest any plastic. Calling the city for help left me in an endless mechanical nightmare - so I called another neighbor for help who fortunately was able to come and bag the bags and put them in my trash bin... Pretty much taking up the whole thing for the week. I had to drive off but I circled back because she was not eating the dog food She had gone back to licking bags which were blowing into the street. Cars sort of zooming around. So, I again came up and sort of tried to guide her towards the food on the sidewalk; I took this little video, and called for help and within a few minutes my friendly neighbor arrived - but during that time she walked back off towards her regular corner area. ( Good neighbors are the ones who you can ask to do really gross things on the spur of the moment) She was not going to let me catch her, but she is not extremely afraid. She is very smart; I would not describe her as a boxer mix. She's a fawn pit / staffie mix in my opinion. Beautiful. I did make it to the doctor's appointment on time and probably the crows are enjoying what was left on the sidewalk, if she did not circle back to it. It wasn't much bc I know you have a feeding schedule going. Sorry this isn't a great video clip and maybe Facebook isn't even going to load it - I don't know. But it shows her from only a few feet away. I think when she is finally in the right environment she is going to be a wonderful dog. I hope someone will be motivated to consider committing to being a foster for her. Feel free to use this/ edit it if you want.
They are so beautiful! 🙏

I saw this dog a few minutes ago in this area in Dallas (see screenshots). I stopped my car to try to catch it, but it’s very scared and limping. It looks elderly. When I tried to catch it, it crossed the street near the train area shown in the screenshot. I’m going to come back and check on it.
🚨We still URGENTLY need fosters for Millie and her puppies.
Millie’s family is one of the most urgent cases we’ve faced in a while. There are about seven puppies, and they do NOT need to go to the same foster home. They are old enough to be separated. Unfortunately, they are also now following Millie across an incredibly busy four-lane intersection. It is only a matter of time before one of them is struck by a vehicle.
We cannot keep saying yes to dogs in danger without foster homes stepping forward.
If you can foster Millie or even just one puppy, please email capture@duckteam6.org so we can connect you with the backing rescue.

Where in Dallas are they?
Praying for Millie and her babies!! I just know a good foster is out there!
It has been almost a full week since Buck and Ranger were finally caught and we have some amazing updates to share. ❤️
Buck is already beginning to explore his new environment and even jumped up on the couch! He’s gaining confidence every day and is already improving on leash walks.
Ranger has had a harder time adjusting, but this morning brought a huge breakthrough. He came out of his crate on his own, started exploring more of the home, and is now showing interest in his foster’s personal dog. Watching these small moments of trust build is everything we hoped for.
Seeing these boys begin to decompress reminds us why we never gave up on them.
Now that Buck and Ranger are on their way to healing, we URGENTLY need fosters for Millie and her puppies so we can continue saving dogs like them.

April is National Volunteer Month, and there truly aren’t enough words to express the gratitude we feel for every person who has stood beside us, past and present.
Rescue is not easy. It is late nights and early mornings. It is missed dinners, canceled plans, and answering messages when your heart and body are already exhausted. When most people are resting, our volunteers and fosters are still out there... driving, building, trapping, comforting, and refusing to give up on dogs that have nowhere else to turn.
They do this while balancing full-time jobs, families, and their own lives. They do it knowing the work is hard, unpredictable, and often heartbreaking.
And still… they show up.
Thank you to the volunteers who have spent their weekends building runs so families can keep their dogs contained when outside.
Thank you to the ones who have sat quietly in cars for hours, watching and waiting for a frightened dog who never appeared, only to return again the next day with the same hope.
Thank you to those who have worked capture cases for days, weeks, and months when no foster stepped forward, carrying the weight of “what if” but never walking away.
Thank you to the fosters who open their homes to medical cases, to the shutdown dogs, to the ones who need extra patience, extra time, and extra love to learn that the world can be kind.
Thank you to the volunteers who show up to every event, every call for help, every moment a community needs support... often without recognition, but always with heart.
Rescue runs on compassion, but it survives because of people willing to give pieces of themselves for animals they may have just met.
To every Duck Team 6 volunteer, you are the reason discarded dogs become safe dogs. You are the reason hope exists where there once was none.
Because of you, this mission continues.
And because of you, lives are changed every single day.
Thank you.

🚨 URGENT: Millie and her babies 🚨
We have received ZERO foster interest and Millie is now leading her puppies across four lanes of a busy street.
These puppies are old enough to be weaned and separated into multiple foster homes, but we have received no offers and Millie also needs a place to go.
Millie is street smart, but her puppies are not. It is only a matter of time before one is potentially hit by a car and that puts them in serious danger.
💔 Here’s the reality:
We cannot attempt to secure the puppies until we have a dedicated foster ready to take them immediately. Once the puppies are removed, we need to act quickly to safely capture Millie while having the puppies on site —but if she realizes her babies are gone and leaves the area, we may lose her.
🐾 We need:
• A committed foster ready ASAP
• A safe, quiet space for young puppies
• Someone prepared for unknown age or number puppies. Foster must be committed to keeping Millie and puppies until ready for adoption
Millie has done her part. She’s kept her babies alive this long against all odds. Now she needs us to step in before it’s too late.
Please step up. Please share. Please help us save this family just like we did for the Boys and Sadie

Someone saw DAS looking for her and the pups a few hrs ago in another post. Is this true?
This month’s Volunteer Spotlight shines on Courtnie Stoddard!
Courtnie first connected with our capture team back in November when she reached out for help with two stray dogs near her office. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to assist at the time, but after seeing the work we do, she decided to jump in and give it a try herself.
Once she joined, Courtnie dove headfirst into our mission. She shows up for as many captures as she can and brings an incredible energy every single time. Her eagerness, positivity, and dedication are truly contagious. She has quickly become such a valued part of our team.
While we’re sad to say her time in Texas is temporary, she’ll be returning home to Wisconsin this fall, Courtnie is determined to leave her mark here and she absolutely has.
We are so incredibly grateful she chose our organization to volunteer with and to share her passion with our team.
Thank you, Courtnie, for your heart, your commitment, and the difference you’re making for dogs who need it most.

APRIL'S DUCK DOG OF THE MONTH IS SKYLAR!
After over a year in boarding, we’re happy to report that Skylar has settled in nicely into a foster home. One of the biggest benefits of a foster home is getting to see how a dog really does in a house, and Skylar has given us a much clearer picture of who he is.
He’s currently living with six other dogs and gets along great with all of them. Having other dogs around has really helped him learn how to just be a dog in a home. He follows their lead, including going into his crate without issue, and is very easygoing with the pack. Even when other dogs aren’t particularly interested in him, he doesn’t push back or create problems.
Skylar is crate trained, dog door trained, and has quickly adjusted to a daily routine. He’s got a lot of energy, and his foster has learned that a daily walk and plenty of outdoor time to relax in the sun or chase squirrels is exactly what he needs to be his best. Because of this, he will need a home with a yard. Apartment living is not a fit for him.
He enjoys his walks, car rides, and being close to his people. Skylar bonds deeply and is very loyal once he feels comfortable. With new people outside of the home, he can be a little cautious at first, but he’s been doing really well at events, taking treats and warming up at his own pace.
In the home, we’ve learned that Skylar can be quite fearful of new people coming in. Because of this, we think he would do best in a quieter household without a lot of foot traffic from strangers, or in a home where he has a safe, quiet place he can be secured when new people are around.
Skylar is a great dog in the right environment and will thrive in a home that sets him up for success.

Can you help Sadie’s puppies find their new foster or forever homes? 🐾
Please share these adorable babies far and wide! They’re ready for the next step in their lives, they just need a little help getting there.
We fought so hard and for so long to find them in the woods of Dallas so they wouldn’t have to grow up living on the streets. Now they’re safe, loved, and ready to begin their next chapter.
When these puppies move into their new foster or forever homes, Sadie’s foster will be able to focus all of their time and energy on helping Sadie herself adjust to life indoors, something she truly deserves after everything she’s been through.
Sharing truly saves lives. Help Marleigh's Friends find these babies the homes they’ve been waiting for.If you're considering adding a puppy to your pack, look no further!

I can foster the pups
LOOK WHO GOT CAUGHT!
After 8 long months of begging, pleading, searching, hoping… and heartbreak after heartbreak from foster offers that fell through, were rescinded, or simply disappeared... we can finally say the words we’ve dreamed of:
Buck and Ranger are off the streets.
These boys survived months sleeping on gravel beneath semi-trailers, enduring heat, cold, noise, and uncertainty, while a team of people refused to stop fighting for them. There were moments we felt defeated. Moments we wondered if their day would ever come. But giving up was never an option.
Today, they are safe.
Today, they have beds.
Today, they can finally rest.
We’re planning a “Behind the Capture” segment to share the full story of Sadie, Buck, and Ranger — three dogs who changed us and became the ones we simply could not walk away from. We hope their journey helps people understand why responsible ownership and spaying and neutering are so important, and how easily dogs can end up fighting just to survive.
For the first time in so long, Buck and Ranger don’t have to sleep with one eye open. They don’t have to wonder where their next meal will come from. They are finally learning what safety feels like… and soon, what love truly means.
Thank you to Dallas Pets Alive, their incredible fosters, and every single person who followed their story, shared their posts, and believed alongside us. You helped carry these boys home.
The healing will take time and their fosters are ready for that journey. These dogs may have come from the streets, but their future is finally filled with patience, compassion, and hope.
After everything they’ve endured, watching the beginning of their happy ending feels nothing short of miraculous. 🐾

🚨 URGENT SUPPLIES NEEDED 🚨
Our capture team was loading up and getting ready to head out to capture BUCK AND RANGER — YES, these boys FINALLY have fosters waiting for them!
But while we were searching for the right fosters, capture efforts never slowed down and now our supplies are running dangerously low.
To keep helping dogs like Buck and Ranger get to safety, we urgently need:
- Slip leads (our most-used and most-needed tool)
- Aluminum pans! With warmer weather rolling in, we use these to create moats that keep ants from invading and spoiling food during trapping
Every capture takes patience, time, and the right equipment. Without these supplies, our ability to safely secure dogs in need is limited.
Can you help us? Check our wishlist linked below. Every single item helps us continue this lifesaving work.

Meet available Mochi! AKA Woody!
Mochi is a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing 80 lbs, and he’s equal parts adventure buddy and couch companion.
Mochi recently finished board and train, and it shows. He’s learned important household manners and how to stay calm and comfortable in a crate, now seeing it as a safe place. These skills make him much easier to transition into a forever home.
He has a sweet, calm disposition and absolutely loves people, including kids. Mochi bonds deeply with his humans and is incredibly loyal to those he trusts.
Mochi was originally found living on an uncleared lot in Old East Dallas. Thanks to a dedicated foster family, he’s gone from a street dog to a total snuggle bug who enjoys the comforts of home.
One of Mochi’s favorite things is string cheese, earning him the nickname “Mocheezy.” 🧀
Mochi is fully house-trained, well-mannered, eager to please, and enjoys having a job or task to focus on.
Important to know: Mochi would do best as the only pet. He prefers space from other dogs and is happiest focusing on his person. In a single-pet home, his loyal and affectionate personality really shines.
If you’re looking for a devoted companion who’s ready to be your sidekick both out in the world and at home, Mochi is ready to meet you. To learn more or apply, email placement@duckteam6.org.

Gorgeous baby ! Shared
Charlie has been with Duck Team 6 for almost a year and many of you may remember him as one of the adorable Breakfast Club pups. He is the last one still waiting for his forever family. Hard to believe, but this sweet boy has only received one adoption application in all this time.
Charlie weighs about 40 pounds and is on the shy side with new people. He needs a family who will give him a little time and patience while he settles in. Once he warms up, you get to see the fun, playful side of him. He gets along well with the dogs in his foster home. He can be a bit of a brat with his foster siblings at first, so he will do best with a confident dog who will set the tone and then become his best buddy.
He is fully potty trained, crate trained, and already uses a dog door. He loves playing in the yard, snoozing on the couch, and hanging out with his people. Charlie has also completed professional training that helped boost his confidence and improve his leash manners. His progress has been incredible, and he deserves his chance at a happy ending.

Such a sweet baby! Loved seeing her at the brewery!

DUCK DOG OF THE MONTH: JASMINE
Jasmine has been waiting since March of 2022.
That’s four years.
Four years of being safe. Nearly four years of being cared for. Nearly four years of wonderful people making sure she’s fed, exercised, and loved.
And nearly four years without a home of her own.
Jasmine came into our care in the spring of 2022. She briefly tried foster life, but after an incident with the resident dog, it became clear she needed to be the only pet in the home. Since then, she’s been patiently waiting for the right fit.
She is incredible with people. Affectionate. Social. Loyal. She leans into love and thrives on human connection. She’s crate trained, house trained, knows her basic manners, and enjoys the simple things in life like chasing a ball or chewing on her favorite toys.
Her only ask is simple: she wants to be your one and only.
We know single-dog homes can be harder to find. But we also know they exist. There are families who don’t want multiple pets. There are people who want one devoted companion, one shadow, one best friend.
Jasmine has watched so many dogs come and go over the years. And somehow, she still greets each day with hope.
She doesn’t need saving.
She needs choosing.
If you’ve ever considered being a one-dog household, Jasmine is ready to give you a bond that is steady, loyal, and all yours. To learn more or apply, email placement@duckteam6.org.

Meet Skylar — our sweet, smart, and sensitive husky mix!
At about 3 years old, Skylar is showing us just how intelligent and loving he can be.
What he loves:
🌊 He loves water and had a blast walking in the lake.
👧👦 He likes kids! They’re much less intimidating to him, and he sweetly takes treats from them.
🧠 And he’s super smart—Skylar learns quickly and is eager to please.
He’s still working on trusting new people and can be cautious at first. But once he feels comfortable, his personality blossoms. He’ll slowly explore his surroundings and soon enough, he’s showering you with kisses and soaking up all the pets. 🐶💕
Skylar is looking for a patient and loving forever home (or foster) where he can keep growing, learning, and being his wonderful self.
💌 Think you could be Skylar’s person? email us at placement@duckteam6.org to learn more about adopting or fostering this sweet boy!

"Some souls don’t enter your life loudly… they arrive quietly, and somehow change everything.
Dallas was once just a shadow moving through the streets of Dallas, unseen by most, surviving more than living. No soft place to land, no certainty of her next meal… But she wasn’t invisible to everyone.
Jonathan, Carleigh, and Dreu saw her. They made sure she was fed, watched over, and cared for in the ways they could. There were multiple attempts that didn’t go as planned. And through it all, she stayed on my heart. Every night, I found myself thinking about her, worrying about her, feeling a responsibility to a dog I hadn’t even met yet.
Until the day everything changed.
She was brought into my home in a trap. And I remember thinking, "she’s so much smaller than I expected. Softer, too. Not hardened by the world the way I imagined she would be."
I had been warned that she might not trust right away. But the moment the trap door opened… she didn’t hesitate. She crawled out slowly, looked at me, and climbed straight into my lap. In that exact moment, without a single word, she chose me.
We had sat down as a family before bringing her home, talking through every fear. Bringing a street dog into your home comes with so many unknowns. So many “what ifs.” We were nervous. Protective. Unsure.
I remember seeing her photo and thinking she needed me. But what I didn’t know then, was how much I needed her. From the very first night, Dallas fit into our lives as if she had always been part of us. No potty accidents. No fear. No aggression, no destruction, no behaviors, she was grateful to us, and she showed it to us in every way.
She got to be a dog again. Bathing in the sun, going for her pup cup runs, always showing mom whose more athletic, even debating over who has more muscle definition, and Dallas always wins😅
She slept in our bed that very first night and never looked back. She loves our children with a gentleness that’s impossible to explain. She follows me everywhere, my constant shadow. She adores her dad in a way that melts you. She rides with me, comes to the gym, and has seamlessly found her place beside her two senior chocolate lab sisters.
She is everything the world gets wrong about pitbulls—soft, loving, deeply loyal… our sweet “house hippo.”
None of this would have been possible without Duck Team 6 & RuffRoadRevival, Because of them, Dallas didn’t just get rescued… They gave her a life, and I’ll never stop thanking them for saving her. I’m forever grateful.
All the fear we carried before bringing her home… it never stood a chance against who Dallas truly is.
Dallas isn’t just a good dog.
She is the best girl.
And somehow, the one we saved… ended up saving us."

She’s a beautiful girl! So glad you found each other!
Favorite video with Dallas ever 😂💜
She truly is absolutely the best! 🥰
"Some dogs don’t come around overnight.
Some don’t come around in a week… or even a month.
And then there’s Bob Barker. ❤️
Back in August 2023, Bob was running loose in East Dallas, crossing a busy road daily and doing everything he could to survive. A Good Samaritan was finally able to secure him, and just like that… he was safe.
We named him Bob Barker, after the legendary animal advocate, and officially welcomed him as a Duck Dog.
But Bob wasn’t your typical rescue.
He was terrified.
Shut down.
Unsure of everything and everyone around him.
He landed with foster mom Stacy and foster dad Bobby, who, spoiler alert, turned out to be his forever mom and dad too.
What was supposed to be fostering turned into something much bigger.
For nearly two years, Stacy and Bobby showed up for him. No pressure, no expectations, just consistency, patience, and time.
And slowly, Bob started to change.
Not all at once.
But in the small moments that matter most.
Taking treats from Stacy’s fingers.
Getting excited for breakfast, barking, wagging, and “talking” in the mornings.
Learning how to play tug and chase a ball after not even knowing what toys were.
Watching the other dogs and teaching himself how to just be a dog.
Figuring out that the sound of snacks in the kitchen might mean something good is coming. 😄
He’s still cautious. Still does things on his terms.
But those terms now include rolling over for belly rubs, when he decides it’s time.
And Bobby has clearly fallen hard too. Every new milestone Bob allows feels like a huge win, the kind you can’t wait to tell somebody about.
Stacy described him perfectly: a wonderful challenge, with the sweetest personality, and helping him learn how to navigate life has been a joy.
In July 2025, they made it official.
But the truth is, Bob had been home for a long time."

He was one of Lana Varian Bass favorite hot messes 🥰🥰
Another win for Duck Team 6!
I love this! All my dogs have been rescues. Spent 5 days trying to trap #8 of 10 little dogs and puppies dumped by a woman in a vacant church parking lot. Caught 7 the first day; East Lake Pet Orphanage took them in, and they were all adopted in December into wonderful homes! This guy we caught at 2:30 a.m. in 35° temps in a makeshift kennel/trap that the "church people" didn't want on their property! Smh. [I did it anyway ... lol] He took a few weeks to adjust and still hasn't a clue about toys and fearful of everything outside. But he's loving belly rubs and trusts me ... and he has his forever home, too. He's learned to trust me ... as you can see. Thank you, Duck Team 6, for what you do for the lost and abandoned dogs you trap so they can find homes. Glad we got this guy trapped ourselves. You inspired us! Bless your team members for all they do to help catch so many so that they can finally know a real home!
"We were contacted about a litter of pups through another rescue person. Luckily at that time, we had a couple of volunteers who were interested in fostering. I took two of the pups and named them Kacie and Teeter from the Yellowstone series.
These dogs were part cattle dog and were high energy, wild puppies! Although my husband and I pinky swore we weren’t going to keep either of them, he got very attached to Kacie.
After a couple of months when they were eligible for adoption, he asked me if we could keep Kacie. I of course didn’t hesitate saying yes. Teeter was adopted to a wonderful lady with another dog and Kacie stayed with us.
She’s almost 4 years old now and she’s the smartest, craziest, cutest dog ever!"

Krazy KK! We love her!
Enjoy hearing the success stories!
"A Duck Team 6 volunteer went to Pet Supplies Plus to pick up donations for us. When she got there, they told her somebody had left a puppy tied to their back door. They asked if she could take him into our rescue and she said yes.
We happened to be having a volunteer event that night and she brought the puppy to the event. He was an instant hit and loved the salmon I was feeding him under my chair. He was such a sweetheart and one of our board members took him home for the night.
I told her I would be able to foster him and picked him up from her the next day. He went on a trial adoption that didn’t end up working out, came back to my house and never left. He fit in with my pack so well and ended up being such a great dog. Sully is now almost 8 years old and is the best, sweetest boy ever!"

He’s darling and his size should be especially attractive to someone who can’t manage a big dog. Hoping for a great match for him soon!
Such a handsome fellow
Awwweee Charlie
"Toast’s journey started under a trailer home, where his mom and her puppies were trying to survive in an unsafe environment. Thanks to Duck Team 6 volunteers, the puppies were rescued and lovingly named “The Breakfast Club.”
Around that same time, we had just lost our senior dog. Our home felt quieter, and while we were still grieving, we knew we had space to help. That’s when Toast came into our lives.
From day one, Toast was pure joy, playful, goofy, and full of personality. At the time, we were also fostering Beanz, and the two of them bonded instantly. Since then, they’ve been inseparable.
Toast quickly showed us how smart he is, picking up potty training and basic commands with ease. He keeps us laughing with his silly antics, loves a good game of fetch, and is happiest when he’s snoozing on top of his humans or cuddled up next to Beanz.
After 4 months of fostering, we knew Toast wasn’t going anywhere.
In the most perfect twist, we officially adopted both Toast and Beanz on the same day. And as if their bond wasn’t already special enough, a DNA test revealed they share 29% of their DNA! This makes them close relatives, possibly even half siblings. Found miles apart and months apart, somehow they still found their way back to each other.
Some things are just meant to be.
Toast is home, forever!"

That gave me the feels! Dutch says congratulations to Toast and Beanz! Life’s good!
❤️ ❤️
"When a short-term foster placement didn’t work out, Beanz was at risk of being sent to a crowded shelter. Around the same time, my husband and I had just lost our senior dog. Our hearts were still very much in pieces, but we knew we still had space to save another life.
Beanz had spent his entire life on the streets, and coming indoors was completely unfamiliar and scary for him. He was terrified at first. But with patience, consistency, and a lot of love, he began to trust. Slowly but surely, he not only adjusted, he thrived.
Beanz is unbelievably intelligent. He learns quickly, picks up on routines, and even communicates using buttons (which still amazes us every day). While he was a total love bug at home, his fears caused him to be reactive around strangers. With the help of professional training, he made huge progress.
Now, he spends his days enjoying long walks, cuddling on the couch, and playing with his four-legged brother, Toasty. After 5 months of fostering, we knew what our hearts had already decided, Beanz was home.
We made it official, and we’re so grateful he’s part of our family forever!"
